According to Reuters, Mike White, an 11-year veteran at Disney who previously worked at Yahoo, has been named the head of the company’s metaverse strategy. The appointment, which was announced through an internal email on Tuesday, suggests Disney is taking this whole metaverse thing very seriously, even if no one can quite agree on a definition of what the metaverse even is yet. "For nearly 100 years, our company has been a pioneer in the entertainment industry, using technology to bring stories to life in new and innovative ways," Disney CEO Bob Chapek said in an email to Disney employees on Tuesday, according to Reuters. "Today, we have an opportunity to connect those universes and create an entirely new paradigm for how audiences experience and engage with our stories," Chapek continued.
